Received approval for ASML today so attempted to run the IRS XML but it shows the files are invalid. When I click on the Error Report, it says there are no errors found. Also – when I tried to run the file, it took quite a long time and then looked like it hadn’t started. So I went back in and it shows two reports.

Also - is there a way to allow for #s in the naming convention? I would like to keep the tax years separate.

Concern :
Generated Xml Files Invalid & Not able to view discrepancy details.
Cause :
Discrepancy Report patch is in Q.A. testing & will be available on Production on or before 17th Feb 2017.
Correction :
Until the feature available on production , we generated the discrepancy report manually &
tried to generate the xml files on HSPL by correcting discrepancy & its generated valid xml files.

Please do the correction as per listed the discrepancy in the attachment & finalize the 1095 c report again
& after generation of xml file will be found as valid.

Cause :
Due to set validation constraint that should not be accepted numeric values as names.

Correction :
You can use in word as naming convention to keep tax years separated like One Six or any other as per your convenience other than number.
This change will be implemented for next year submission.

All - if this is truly their legal names, how do we shorten them to adhere to the IRS limit of 20 characters? If we shorten it, odds are they will err out with the IRS for a mismatch.

Yes you are right but as per irs schema rules its invalidate.

Correction :
Still you can submit the files & irs will acknowledge it by tin validation error.

Hi all - the IRS rejected the file; so we need to reduce the names to the appropriate # of characters and then let the file err out so that it can be accepted with errors rather than rejected? Are we able to do that from the back-end rather than having to change it in WORKTERRA as you can imagine the issues that would come with changing the name in the system.

We have updated the Last name of employee Gesner Vasconcelos de Carvalho as
Last Name earlier - Vasconcelos de Carvalho
Last Name for current run - Vasconcelos de Carvalh
to reduce the # of characters to 20 from back-end only for that particular run.
We have processed verify submission data and now valid file is generated. Please download the latest file and upload it to IRS and let us know the transmission status after submitting this file.

So is this what we need to do before submitting for all names that are longer than the allowed characters?

Yes, we need remove all the discrepancies from the finalized run so that valid files are generated.

Hi Jennifer Leugers,

An employee having SSN XXXXX8477 was being added earlier into employee table and its correction record was also present into the ACA table. After that the employee was being deleted from the system but its correction records were still into table. Due to this that employee was showing up into the run which caused the file to be invalid.

We have deleted the correction records against that employee and re-run 1095C & 1094C reports. The total employee count is now 109. Also valid correction XML files are generated on IRS Submission. Please refer latest run on IRS Submission.
