- consider Vision Type is contingent on Medical and Dental Type
- log in with employee
- say employee is not enrolled in Medical and Dental plan
- click on the contingency detail informative link shown on Vision plan
Ideally user should immediately get an idea about the benefit types and respetive plans in which he is supposed to enroll in order to get Vision type - plan
- For this - we can list out the benefit type & the plans under the type in a collective manner
Example -
You can enroll in this benefit once you enroll in any of following benefit(s)
Medical
Medical PPO Plan
Medical HMO Plan
Dental
Dental HMO Plan

The messages are still collective in terms of Benefit Types and Plans.
More effective and simple way to show the contingency would be - showing benefit type and benefit plans contingency separately the way they have set on plan customization
Say - we have customized the contingency like following
With this customization we can show the contingency messages like -
Benefit Type Contingency
Eligible if selected in ALL selected benefit types
- Medical
- Dental
Benefit Plan Contingency
Enrollment required if enrolled in ALL selected contingent plan designs
- Medical PPO Plan (Medical)
- Dental HMO Plan (Dental)
Please let us know once we determine & deploy the way of showing the contingency messages with the comments in JIRA

This is tested on Azure - Working Well
As per the discussion -
- if any one plan is eligible (contingency eligibility + demographics eligibility) to employee under a benefit type - let it be any other plans available in the same benefit type (demographically eligible + some contingency set over them) - system won't be showing the contingency messages with the benefit type. Employee will be able to elect in the available plan
- if type has multiple demographically eligible plans to employee - contingency set over all of them - system will be showing the contingency message related to only first eligible plan to employee
