Hi all - why is EE Faisal Abdullahi showing as part-time for the months he wasn't employed? I know it doesn't drive anything on his form but the client is questioning it.

Hi Jennifer Leugers,

Faisal Abdullahi got terminated in the month of August.
We change the employee status from Full time to Part time after he was terminated to depict proper codes of 1H-2A in the months he was not employed.This change is only for computation purpose.No where in the system his status is changed.

Here for this employee there is no impact of the change from full time to part time as the employee's benefit get terminated upon his termination.But there are different groups where the benefit is eligible even after termination.So for them codes other than 1H-2A get furnished.
IRS states that after termination codes should be 1H-2A.

Hi all -

There are 2 individuals in Part Time status that show codes 1H and 2D:

Thomas Eisenhower and Christopher Pennington.

I do not see why we are coding them a 2D as they weren't in their waiting period (as Eisenhower was a rehire 1.9.17 and got benefits effective 1.9.17).

Could you please check into this?

We have analyzed the employees mentioned in your earlier comment and below is our analysis:

Both the employees are rehired. Even though they were eligible for benefits from date of hire they did not have offer for each day of the month.
In the case of Thomas Eisenhower,he did not have offer from 1/1/2017 to 1/8/2017 and in case of Christopher Pennington,he did not have offer from 11/1/2017 to 11/19/2017.
So they will get 1H as they did not have offer for all the days in the month.
We are coding 2D as they were rehired in that month. 2D is coded for the month in which employees are hired or rehired unless they become eligible for benefits of the whole month.
If they had been rehired form the 1st of the month and eligible for benefits from date of hire,then they would have got appropriate 2-series code.
