Please check the rates on the critical illness plans below. The rate is issue age so employees should be getting a rate with the age as of "date of election"
Aflac Critical Illness $15K 07/01/2016
Aflac Critical Illness $15K EE + Spouse 07/01/2016
Aflac Critical Illness $30K 07/01/2016

This is not an issue.
As per my write up for client on WT-12161
If rates are starting from "1/1/2018" and rule is "at the time of election" then we consider age as of "1/1/2018" because rates effective start date is "1/1/2018" and it is the system behavior, which is working for all other clients. This company's requirement is different - rate is from 1/1/2018 and still they want cost as of 1/1/2017. We need to think to introduce different rule for such requirement.
Please make sure that they want it like this only? then for time being we will correct rates from back end
to clarify. If they want the rate to show the age as of 1/1/2016 then we need to change the rate start date to 1/1/2016. If that is correct then can you change the rate start date on the critical illness rates to 1/1/2016 so we can upload the new effective dates and recalculate the rates.
Attached is a spreadsheet with employee that need their plan effective date changed to 7/1/2016. Once the rate effective date is changed can you please change the plan effective date for the attached employees and then recalculate the rate.
All critical illness rates should be rated at the age of the employee at time of election.
Please let us know as soon as this is complete.
I will send password via email
Also please do these correction on stage or a copy. Once approve we can proceed with the changes on Production
Hi Debbie Kulling,
As discussed in call, we need to do following steps on HSPL copy in production
- Change plan effective date to 07/01/2016 for given employees (we have following query regarding this step.)
- Change Rate start date to 01/01/2016
- Re-calculate CI rates for all employees
- Grant access to Debbie Kulling for "County of San Luis Obispo For HSPL" in production.
Query for #1 : From given list following 2 EEs changed their CI plan in 2018.
- Andrew Koval
- Jill Coomer
Do we need to change their plan effective date to 07/01/2016 for 2017 CI elections? Please confirm.
Thanks and Regards,
:: Umesh Kadam

Hi Debbie Kulling,
We have done correction in HSPL copy (i.e. "County of San Luis Obispo For HSPL") in production and also provided access to you. Please check and confirm.
Please note : We haven't done correction for 'Andrew Koval' and 'Jill Coomer'. Please confirm if we need to change their CI plan effective date to 07/01/2016 for 2017 elections.

Hi Debbie Kulling,

I cannot see the HSPL company even with SA login
I have activated HSPL copy on PROD. Please check and confirm.
Umesh...I see that the effective dates of the rates were changed and the employee effective dates were changed. But the employees who have the rates changed to 7/1/2016 have No rate and the rates for the other employees are still wrong. It is still rating employees age as of 1/1/2018
Hi Debbie Kulling,
Please find below our observations
- Employees whose plan effective date has been changed to '07/01/2016' are NOT eligible to CI rates with effective date '07/01/2016'. Hence they are not getting CI rates
- For other employees, we have just re-calculated the CI rates again and scanned for mismatching cost, all employees are now getting cost from election effective date (and not from '01/01/2018'). All costs are looking good. Please check again and let us know if you found any discrepancies.
Thanks and Regards,

I don't understand the first bullet. Why are they not getting a rate. The rate effective date is 1/1/2016 and their elections are 7/1/2016. They should be getting a rate with their age as of 7/1/2016
I apologize for first bullet, I wanted to say that "We have changed CI election effective date to '07/01/2016' for 25 employees but these 25 employees are NOT satisfying eligibility criteria set for CI rates. Hence they are not getting CI rates even if we changed rate effective date to '01/01/2016'"
Hi Debbie Kulling,
Have you verified changes in HSPL copy? Shall we do data correction on MAIN company?
Thanks and Regards,
:: Umesh Kadam

Can you please reactivate the HSPL Copy. Also whey are the 7/1/2016 employees not meeting the rate eligibility. I cannot figure it out?
Hi Debbie Kulling,
I have reactivated HSPL copy. Please check. Will get back to you in sometime regarding rate eligibility query.

Hi Debbie Kulling,
As requested, we have updated effective date of CI plans to 07/01/2016 for 25 employees (25 are out of given 27 employees). But these employees were added in system with effective date 01/01/2017 only.
Hence system is not considering them as eligible on effective date 07/01/2016. Do we need to change effective dates for given employees? Please advise.
Thanks and Regards,
:: Umesh Kadam

Can you please reactivate the HSPL company so we can check
Hi Debbie Kulling,
We have activated County of San Luis Obispo HSPL company on production.
Please let us know if you required more details.
CC-Abhilash Warkari, Suraj Sokasane, Vinayak Kulkarni, Satya
We checked this and the employees in the list provided and you changed their effective date to 1/1/2017 NOT 7/12016. Please correct ASAP on the HSPL copy so we can check before any changes are made on the live copy
Hi Debbie Kulling,
Please find below 3Cs :
Concern | Employee didn't get rate as per age on "date of election" |
Cause |
|
Correction | As discussed in call dev needs to do following steps to get correct cost for CI elections
|
Please note : HSPL copies gets deactivated every CST and PST morning. Also those can be restored by dev team as required. While restoring HSPL copy, system restores it from main company. Therefore you are getting same/old data as that is present in main company. Dev needs to do required change/correction again in this case. So, we will re-activate and do correction in HSPL copy on tomorrow (12/13/2017) PST morning. Please verify the changes on same day.

Hi Debbie Kulling,
As this ticket doesn't require any code change(s), could you please convert this ticket to "Support Activity"?
Thanks and Regards,
:: Umesh Kadam
CC : Satya, Gaurav Sodani, Amruta Lohiya, Jyoti Mayne
I don't know how to change it to a support ticket. Please advise
Hi Debbie Kulling.
As discussed with Jaideep Vinchurkar rejecting this ticket (which was initially reported as bug) as no code changes required and can be done using customization changes. No need to convert this to Support Activity.

Hi Debbie Kulling,
Please find below points we have discussed in call.
We have scanned Critical Illness elections to check if they have been allocated with correct cost as per EE's age at the time of election instead of EE's age on "01/01/2018", we have found 19 employees affected of having wrong cost allocated. Please find attached list for the same (i.e. Affected_Employees.xls
). I will share password in separate mail.
We are working on finding root cause of this system behavior. Meanwhile, if we set rate start date to "01/01/2017" and recalculate the rate, employees will get proper cost (this was suggested by you in call). We have tested this on HSPL copy and it is working fine. Please let us know if you want to do same correction on main company.
Thanks and Regards,
:: Umesh Kadam
