Hi all - is there a way to indicate the spousal carve-out by class, not plan? Austin has certain classes that have the spousal as conditional but others where there are no limitations. How do I do that in WORKTERRA?
Hi Jennifer Leugers,
Currently, there is no UI to do spousal coverage by class.
However we can do this from Backend.
We need below details to achieve this:
1. Eligibility rule : This is generic eligibility rule which will give EE's that are eligibile for spousal coverage.
2. Which eligibility rule corresponds to which code (1J,1K)
Below are specifications for 1K,1J (For More info, please visit IRS Site)
1J. Minimum essential coverage providing minimum value offered to employee and at least minimum essential coverage conditionally offered to spouse; minimum essential coverage not offered to dependent(s).
1K. Minimum essential coverage providing minimum value offered to employee; at least minimum essential coverage offered to dependents; and at least minimum essential coverage conditionally offered to spouse.
We will run this eligibility rule for the period : 01/01/2016-12/31/2016.
We will update only line 14 of eligible months with the code to which the eligibility rule corresponds for all the eligible EE under that rule.
As we need to do additional coding to achieve this functionality,it requires additional time.
Please provide above information and let us know your views on this.
Hi all - the only groups for Austin that have the carve-out are class 3 values for GC, NB and VL. All others do not. Please correct on the back-end and re-run all files. Thanks.
Hi Jennifer Leugers,
We have made changes in conditional offer in ACA customization, we have set conditional offer to default.
Rule_189 was already created with class 3 values selected for GC, NB and VL.
We have used this rule in Multi-employer drop down. From Back-end we have updated Line 14 to 1K for the eligible months of all the employees falling under this rule.
We have considered here code 1K as you have not mentioned which code to use for these employees.
We have re-run all the reports. Please refer latest run for verification.
Hi all - could you please re-run the Maintenance and Construction group tonight? Thanks.
Hi Jennifer Leugers,
We have run "1095C - Austin Maintenance and Construction Inc" report.
Please refer latest run for verification.
Hi all - please see comments from the Client and advise what needs to be done
Waiting period seems off and 1K should never have a $0 associated to it (waiting period cleanup looks like will fix the majority of these though because it will move from 1K to 1H). it looks like it is treating the waiting period like Salary for everyone.
Salary – First of the month following or coincident with date of hire.
Hourly – First of the month following or coincident with 60 days from date of hire.
Alec Sarner – Hourly. Should have a waiting period from May/June/July. So instead of 2H it should be 2D.
Tryston Brock – Hourly. Old one has his waiting period accurate, but not the 1K. New one should have Jan as 1K with an amount, and then the waiting period for Sept/Oct should be 1H and 2D instead of 1K and 2H.
Pablo Arriaga – Hourly. March should be 1H and 2D. Will fix 1k with $0

We have verified below mentioned employees in the latest run.
- Alec Sarner :1H-2D displayed for May/June/July.
- Tryston Brock : 1H-2D displayed for Sept/Oct. This EE was terminated in Jan and didn't had any offer for the whole month of Jan.So 1K cannot be displayed.

Hence for the March month 1H and 2D code will not display.
