Payroll deductions for Five Guys on production Exchange are mapped using Employee cost, the deductions are not correct because defined contributions are not being considered.
The EE deduction should be the total premium that is in the system with the Defined Contribution for that plan / tier subtracted out.

WT-7586 Five Guys - payroll deduction file - employee cost not considering defined contribution amounts
-
- Closed

I have checked and found that the Credit pools are neither exists and nor associated with this plan. So the cost is not considering the Credits. So this is working as expected.
Though, Could you please check from the Exchange or Template side if this is really an issue.
Thanks!

Hi all - I have the approval from Dave to create a way for us to apply the Defined Contribution amounts on the payroll file. The EE deduction should be the total premium that is in the system with the Defined Contribution for that plan / tier subtracted out. Please advise an ETA on this once the analysis is completed.
Samir - FYI as I know you were involved with setting up the Defined Contributions for this Exchange client so wanted to keep you in the loop.
shyam sharma, Could you please provide ETA for this requirement? Thanks!

Hi all - really need to see movement on this ticket. This client has had a lot of issues with the Defined Contribution and need this request completed as soon as possible.
Samir please make sure we get an update today.
Vijay Siddha: Vijay please look in to this and assign this to your team
Hi Avnish
please look into this on priority and share status by today EOD.
Thanks
Vijay
Hi Rochelle Thomas,
We have checked this on Five Guys Company on Production for ADP Deductions PreTax 2017 template. Please go through below points/observations
- To consider credits in the Employee Cost on export file Enrollment Employee Cost Minus Credits field needs to be mapped instead of Enrollment Employee Cost for Deduction Amount field on subtemplate. We have verified this mapping for ADP Deductions PreTax 2017 Template on Test company and it is working as expected.
- We have observed that the plan HDHP w/ HSA 2500 (for the mentioned employee Taylor Johnson) is not selected on ADP Deductions PreTax 2017 Template. So HDHP w/ HSA 2500 records will not roll out on export file. (PFA screenshot below and select the plans accordingly on Template Information page)
Please let us know in case of any queries.
Regards,
Aniruddha Dev

Hello Anirudda,
The plan names are in the process of being changed, none of the medical plans for any employees will show up as shown in the screenshot, the new plans were selected as a test.
This is how the manual calculations were done to get the deduction amount for employee cost:
(monthly premium - employer contributions) *12 / 26 for bi-weekly payroll
(monthly premium - employer contributions) *12 / 52 for weekly payroll
the calculated deduction amount needs to be rounded
if less than 1 then 0
the Plan design name, monthly plan premium, coverage tier, and the payroll schedules for the employees are from an enrollment report
SatyaSamir
please ask if there are questions
sending enrollment report encrypted email
zip encrypted spreadsheet sent to Samir and Satya
Hi Rochelle Thomas,
We are unable to open the file you've sent to us . I've replied to your mail to resend it to us.
Apart from this we have a query and some points to share with you.
- As per our current implementation we do not round up the deduction amount values exporting on the file.
PFA below screenshot of Employee Taylor Johnson's view enrollment summary page as an example :
- If employee cost (shown in Blue Color Box in the screenshot) needs to be exported on file , we should map - Enrollment Employee Cost on export template -
- If deduction amount considering defined contributions (shown in Red Color Box in the screenshot) needs to be exported on file, we should map - Enrollment Employee Cost Minus Credits on export template
Can you please let us know where can we see Employer Contributions (mentioned in the calculations above) for an employee on the screen with an example ? It would be helpful for us.
Thanks & Regards,
Aniruddha Dev

- I tested with Enrollment Employee Cost Minus Credits on export template
- The deduction amounts are not correct using the Enrollment Employee Cost Minus Credits field.
Please see Jennifer Leugers comments in the jira ticket.

Anthony Burch - enrollment summary screenshot
Are you using the EXCHANGE platform for company Five Guys in Production?
on EXCHANGE the screenshots show defined contribution amount
Anthony Burch's payroll deductions:
Dental Low $10.32
PPO 1000 250.43
Vision 3.03
calculation:
(monthly premium - ER contributions) *12 / 26 for biweekly payroll
Dental Low (82.62 - 60.25) * 12 /26 = 10.32
Hey Samir - could you please work with the team and get this done? We have been going back and forth on this since before you left. The cost that needs to show for the employee's deductions as the total premium for Medical, Dental and Vision minus the Defined Contribution for that benefit. You know how many issues we have had with this client and with the Defined Contribution; we simply cannot afford another one. This needs to be addressed ASAP.
recently sent file is still giving error while extracting.
As per screen shot attached for employee "Anthony Burch"
This employee enrolled into PPO 1000 with $802.54 ( bi-weekly)
for this plan, defined contribution is $583.26 (bi-weekly )
So deduction amount on file should be = 802.54 - 583.26 = 219.28
And exactly this amount is exported on file ( by using cost minus credit mapping) , see below screen shot ( yellow highlighted) from last exported file ran by you from template "ADP Deductions PreTax 2017"
let us know if you have any questions on this.
these are the actual deductions for Anthony Burch
Burch Anthony Bi-Weekly Dental Dental Low Plan $10.32
Burch Anthony Bi-Weekly Medical/Rx PPO 1000 $250.43
Burch Anthony Bi-Weekly Vision Vision Plan $3.03
The cost minus credit mapping is not correct for the defined contribution amounts
Hi Rochelle Thomas,
We have checked from back-end and found all of the defined contributions for medical ,dental and vision ( 1196.25,60.25,7.24) is applied to medical only for employee Anthony Burch which is casing cost minus credit to work wrongly.
This must be happened with all other employees as well which why deduction amounts are not populating properly.
We need to check this with enrollment team and get this corrected. We will work on this and get back to you by tomorrow.
For employee Anthony Burch, credits of medical , dental and vision are allocated to medical only which is causing wrong amount to populate on file.
Please check this on priority.
Hi Rochelle Thomas,
We have investigated this issue and observed that Defined Contribution Amounts is not as per calculations because of code issue in Defined Contribution. For code fix we have created new WT-7586 jira for the same. We will fix this issue as soon ass possible.
As for now we have corrected Defined Contribution Amounts for all employees. Could you please verify this data correction by exporting same file.
Please let us know in case of any issue/concern.
Thanks,
Avnish Y
please confirm, is the expected result to have the 'defined contribution remaining' added to the dental plan?
There are 12 employees with this situation.
note: the client is expecting production files on Sunday 1/8/2017
Hi Rochelle Thomas,
We have fixed issue in WT-7586.
Also can you please provide us details of 12 employees which you identify with issues so we can correct those.
Thanks,
Hrishikesh.
please be sure that the issue of the remaining contribution amount being added to the dental plan is corrected going forward and not just for these employees

To the client’s point though, I’m confused why we are showing the full premium as the deduction amount? The EE in question has a total premium of $497.23 (229.49 bi-weekly) but has a defined contribution amount of $412.50 so their monthly cost is $84.73. We should be showing $39.11 as the biweekly EE deduction.
