Yes we can do this, following are the steps to do this:

Step1: Create 3 sub rate
Step2: Give fix cost for Employee and Employee+Spouse tier for all three sub rate. Do not add cost for other tiers.
Step3: Set “Add Additional Cost For Dependent” on for all sub rates.
Step4: For subrate1 - Set additional criteria as (Has child = No) or (Has child = Yes and child age <=21)
And set additional cost as $252.66
Step5: For subrate2 - Set additional criteria as (Has child = No) or (Has child = Yes and child age > 21 and child age <=23)
And set additional cost as $397.90
Step6: For subrate3 - Set additional criteria as (Has child = No) or (Has child = Yes and child age > 23 and child age <=25)
And set additional cost as $399.49

Rakesh Roy, Can you please ask someone to test this on stage as “Add Additional Cost For Dependent” flag is not in that much use and need to check if it’s working or not.

In above customization, if an employee is not having child, he will be eligible for all 3 sub rates which is not expected.
Meanwhile I am testing the functionality for Add Additional Cost For Dependent - will let you know the updates

*Above customization fails in few scenarios like *-

• 2 sub rates (one for child having age lesser than 21 & one for child having age greater than 21)
• if an employee having 2 child, one having age less than 21 & one having age greater than 21
• I select EE + CH (age less than 21) -> still the eligibility set on both of the sub rates gets satisfied and employee will get both of the sub rate which we don't want

As per the discussion, I will try out age based health rates now

As per the discussion with Amruta, we can achieve this by Age Banded Health Rates. But for the same we will need to resolve one observed issue WT-8303

Hello Andrea Dennis,

We have resolved one of the issue with health age banded rates - now we can fulfill your requirement with below customization -

1. We will be creating a Health Age Banded Rate

2. As you mentioned we will add the costs for Employee and Spouse in the Age Banded Rates tab (I am taking cost as $ 100 and $ 50 for EE and SP for exmaple)

3. As shown in the attached screenshot, add 3 age bands and respective costs for children [in the screenshot, we have added the ones you have mentioned in the requirement, you can change it as per your requirement]

4. Save the customization and map this rate to related Health Type Plan

Above customization satisfies your requirement 'if all children are under 21, it would be 252.66 * 3 for children plus the rate for the age of the employee and spouse.
If one child is under 21, one is 23 and one is 25, the deduction would be 252.66 + 397.90 + 399.49 plus the rate for the age of the employee and spouse'

Note - While testing the request we have found few internal issues like WT-8391 WT-8394 WT-8395 WT-8388. We will fix them at our end.
For now, the found issues will not be harming your requirement as those are related to Spouse / Domestic Partner / Domestic Partner Child Age Bands & Serivices
