We did not get much time to find the root cause. As per analysis done till now we observed that the pop up, with View Only message is coming at times and at times it is not coming.

Also, could you please update us on following:
1. Can we handle issue for View History screen issue from customization, by giving "View and Edit" rights to Admin user.
2. If Admin user has "View only" right, then should admin user be allowed to use the View History functionality. As per "View Only" right screen should be disabled. If we are allowing this, then there will be no difference between usability of "View only" and "View and Edit" access right. Please let us know your views on this.
3. For Reports, in case of View Only, currently complete screen is non disabled, we are thinking to disable just "Save" button and allow user to preview the report. Is that fine?

AJ comments:that is fine as long as the Edit is on for just View History

please provide update on the policy setup. The client is unable to Employee View History and they need an update on when this is going to be resolved.

As per our discussion we have tested the below mentioned scenarios, but still we got the exception while selecting view only policy- for mananing EE in view history/ reports etc.

Hi Amannda Johnson,

We tried with View and Edit rights for View History and Reports today in Dev environment.
For View History, there is still problem but ACT execution was successful.
Could not try these settings on Production as do not have access to User Access Policy menu.
Will provide an update for execution of ACT Report with View and Edit policy on Production tomorrow.

please provide update on this ticket on where we currently stand on getting this resolved.

Hi Amannda Johnson,

Temporarily we have assigned a policy in which View and Edit rights are given only for the reports, where admin can save and edit reports. All the other fields are set to view only rights.

We have also tested this policy on HSPL copy and its working as expected, with this policy admin are restricted to make any changes as it is view only policy apart from reports. (we have done this changes through customization)

For WT-8738 (this issue) is still under development process and Prasanna Karlekar will provide update on it.

We also have provided an update on WT-8589.

Hi Samir,

We are working on this issue in following way:

1. For View History:
View Only - User can View History.
Editable - User can View History.

2. For Reports:
View Only - User can preview report but cannot save.
Editable - User can preview as well as save/edit reports.

Please note this will take some time to fix.

Discussion is required for this JIRA.

For Reports there are following 2 points that we are stuck on:
1. For View Only policy, we disable complete screen which is handled in common js function. But for screens like report we will have to keep the screen enable and only save button disable.
2. There is inconsistent behavior across the system for View Only policy. At times the screens appear enable and at times they are disable. This also needs a common fix.

Can proceed only after discussion is done on these scenarios.

Through customization we have done temporarily changes and the system is working fine as expected, for view only policy we are having similar other issues as well which are reported, development team will have discussion on it and will give you an update, also please refer the JIRA comments on WT-9326.

Have changed the priority from High to Medium as this is scenario specific and arises only when Admin has View Only policy.
