      Description

      Please see the email below from BCC. They have found out that some of the employee received the emails and some did not. Please advise asap.

      The client requested an email blast to be sent at 8am EST and 5am PST this morning to all employees. I sent the email and I received a confirmation message that the email was sent to all employees successfully.

      The client emailed us this morning stating no email has been received and they’ve confirmed the email did not go to their spam folders.

      We’ve confirmed both employees in HR who did not receive the email blast do have an email address in their demographics screen and the field for receive email is showing “Yes.”

      We sent this email again just now using both the incomplete log in status and the complete log in status and the client still has not received email.

      Both times I received the confirmation message. Please see attached screen prints.

          During Email broadcast, mails are sent from system in the batch size of 200. For below broadcast we observed that emails have been sent out from system in different batches:

          Hi Satya / Sheetal Bodhale,

          We have tried Email broadcast on RSC for HSPL Production company and observed that emails not going to all employees who has Incomplete Status.

          Same we have tried on TIBCO for HSPL and observe that emails are going properly for all employees.

          We will retest same on RSC for HSPL company and update.

          I have discussed this with Saurabh Sablaka,he told me to change failure routine to catch the mail failure reason.We didn't find any cause of mail failure.

          I will discuss this with Swapnil Pandhare tomorrow and will update this accordingly.

          Hrishikesh Deshpande; Through email broadcast the mails are not sent to Terminated, Inactive or deceased employee. Please confirm this for difference on RSC & TIBCO.

          Email broadcast is not working properly on RSC for HSPL company.

          I have triggered email for Incomplete and Complete status employees, please find below result -

          Login Status Complete - 296 Employees
          Email sent to 88 employees only

          Login Status InComplete - 1004 Employees
          Email sent to 178 employees only

          I have verified this in DB,
          Query is - "select * from cdosyspara where companyid = 13066"

          Please check this.

          Concern : Email broadcast not working properly.

          Cause : We are sending emails in batches. We create a batch of 200 users and then send email to that batch. A comma seperated list is formed for these users and emails are sent to them. As per logs generated for your requests, it appears that length of BCC parameter exceeded and emails failed to sent. For sending email, CDO.Message object is created and as per below reference , its length is 4000 chars.

          In this case, BCC length is going above 4000 chars and string is truncated as per log. Due to this, emails are failed for that batch.

          Correction : We will be reducing batch size to 80 users on production. This will reduce BCC length per batch and email will be sent properly.

          You can test this once this change is done.

          Sheetal Bodhale, please check above Fail scenario. If it is valid then we need to fix. If it is as per design then we should show some message over there to guide user.

          We have verified mentioned failed scenario.If you select values of Login Status list box by pressing control key,it is fetching value of Incomplete Status only[As this is first value in drop down].

          I got that data at "select * from cdosyspara" table but as per discussion with Sheetal this will not Pass criteria. We should get email on mailbox.

          We have verified that No emails getting sent from Email broadcast. also verified from backend log that Email sent with attachment getting failed.

          After Email broadcast entry gets added at cdosyspara table. but email not received at mailbox.

          Can you please check this?

          Adding comments for clarification:
          Issue was resolved by decreasing batch size from 200 emails to 80 emails as this will reduce the risk of the email addresses exceeding the 4000 max char length.
          However, there is still the change that email addresses (even with 80 emails per batch) may exceed the maximum. Dev will look into this scenario, therefore the ticket is still in development.
          The issue for the client should no longer be occurring.
