Company:County of San Luis Obispo
Development recently add the functionality to allow the use of the last four digits in the employee password. The functionality was added and when tested adding test employees the functionality was working. BCC used this for their group County of San Luis Obispo (5000 lives) that was supposed to go live this morning.
The employees were unable to log in this morning. In talking with Samir this morning the SA Utility for regenerating passwords was not considering this new functionality. Samir and team are currently using a script to regenerate the passwords from the backend.
It is 10:05 PST and it is going to take at least another 20 min to correct this issue. The client was supposed to start OE at 7:00am PST. Needless to say BCC is getting bombarded with calls and has an extremely upset client.
I realize this is another instance of where we rushed an enhancement on to production, but I really need to give BCC a detailed explanation of how this was missed and how we are going to prevent this from happening in the future.

Password generation in SA utility for "last 4 of the SSN in the password" was not released in SA utility on production. Some confusion in deployment approval since there were 3 tickets associated with this feature
Code was added in WORTERRA utility and uploaded to production. Regenerated it through WORKTERRA utility. Tested by logging with 4 different employees successfully
Below tasks were done before regeneration on main company. That’s the reason it took us an hour to get this corrected
• WORKTERRA utility code modification
• upload the DLL file in WORKTERRA utility
• Regeneration on HSPL for testing
• Regeneration on main company (5000 Users)
