      Description

      Hi,

      Per the client:

MGF in stage is set up with a classwise open enrollment rule, the OE for health benefits is 11/1/17 and the voluntary coverage is 1/1/2018. We set up plan Voluntary Short Term Disability with the classwise OE date of 1/1/2018. When we went into participant Daniel Adkins ( who previously had the voluntary STD) the benefit appeared correctly with a date of 1/1/2018, but when we “waive” the benefit it waives it for the 11/1/17 date. When we go into a participant without the coverge and elect the benefit the election date appears correctly as 1/1/18.

The system should be waiving the benefit with a 1/1 date, not a 11/1 date.

      Thank you,
      Kira Hamilton

          Hi Kira Hamilton,

The benefit is waived with OE mode, which is effective from 11/01/2017. class Wise effective date rule is plan specific. So will not be applicable to benefit, especially when OE is going on.

          Hi,

          Per BCC:

Thanks – but honestly, this doesn’t solve our issue. Based on the information provided, how do we get the system to do what we need it to do. We were instructed to build the system as indicated below but if it isn’t correct then please have development or someone advise what corrections need to be made. If we need to provide additional information, then please let us know – but we need assistance building this so that the correct eligibility outcomes occur.

          Thank you,
          Kira Hamilton

          Hi Kira Hamilton,

We discussed this issue with the team. There is one way we can achieve the desired results, by following the steps below.

          1. Start Plan Design Open Enrollment.

For Voluntary STD Plan start plan design enrollment by implementing settings as shown in the figure below.

          (Please refer the screen shot)

set 'Enrollment Start date' and 'Enrollment end date' at Voluntary STD Plan.

          2. Using this mode waive the Voluntary STD Benefit type.

We have tried this scenario at our end and it works fine.

(Please refer the screen shot below)

The effective date is as per the classwise OE rules set on Voluntary Plan Design.

Please try this scenario at your end and let us know for any issues.
          Thank you,
