      Description

We are having an issue getting the Child AD&D to pend. I have the GI amounts set the same as the Child life. The Child life pends but the AD&D does not.

Please look at employee Tiago Salies as an example.

            Hi,

This issue is similar to WT-13142

Please refer Below 3c's for this issue.

            Concern: Child AD&D not Pending.

            Cause:

            • This is scenario specific issue,
            • In this case GI amount for AD&D plan is '0'.
            • For AD&D plan, 'Coverage Start Range' and 'Coverage End Range' are set with same values under “Cost and Coverage” tab i.e. 10k.
            • Now if we are electing Child Life plan with same minimum coverage set for Child AD&D plan i.e. '10K'
            • Here system system should pend election in Child AD&D plan as GI is '0'
            • Instead system is assuming '10K' as approved amount since Minimum and Maximum Range amounts are same
            • Hence it the Child AD&D election never goes for pending.

Correction: We will need code fix to overcome this scenario

            Work around:

A Small customization change in Start Amount of 'Child AD&D' Plan will help to overcome this issue. If we set different values for 'Start Range' and 'End Range' it works fine.

            Example:

If we set Start amount to $9999 and End amount to $10k in 'Child AD&D' plan and make election in Child Life plan with 10k then system enrolls Child AD&D Plan with 10k coverage same as Life Plan and pends AD&D coverage as well.

(Please refer the screen shot below)

We have tested the same in HSPL copy, it works fine.

(Please refer the screen shots below)

Also, there is no need to worry abount EE enrolling with $9999 in Child AD&D, as Child AD&D is forced contingent on Child Life Plan with 100% Coverage amount getting allocated to 'Child AD&D' plan. Employee is not allowed to make any changes in 'Child AD&D' Plan. Hence, 'Child AD&D' will be always enrolled with the Coverage same as Child Life Plan.

Request you to please check and confirm this scenario at your end.
            Thank you,
